I played Castille, married a nice girl, got a 2 year old son and took the county of Molina to the south. I was allied to Navarra, but a request from the king of England and changed.

I look around for potential more target, but it seems the duchy of Catalonia beat me to it for the closest once, so I decide to go south to the Emirate of Mallorca. He is under the Kingdom of Zigrid, but he is far away in Africa, so I reckon I will be done before he gets there and if he does I can almso match him in strenght.

At first it goes good, I march south, declare war, deafeat their army, send one regiment to sige each castle with the third one marching to help speed up the sige. Then suddenly both the Emirate of Toledo and the Sheikdom of Lisboa decides to declare war against me. My troops are no match for Toldedos and his counts. My reserve troops get anhiliated first, then they take Molina and 50% of my remaining tropps desert and I decide to start over from a save before the war.

This time I got for the Sheikdom of Abarraun. A small one province sheikdom with no allies and no liege and only able to muster around 700 troops. I march my Molina army close and declare war. Again I easily deafet his forces and lay siege to the province. This time it seems to go after the plan, I easily repell the attempts from his army to break the sige, but just about when the sige progress towards red, Toledo declares war again.

I manage to finish the siege, the province automatically gets a new count without me appointing one(why?) I muster all my troops, but the 3000 I have left and march to break the sige on Molina, praying for good luck against his 5000 troops. But when he gets reinforcements and the stack increase to 10 000 men I'm beaten again.

So basically, why does Toledo keep picking on me and not on the other christian states that takes muslim territory, and more importantly, how can I stop him from doing that?

Welcome to the Iberian peninsula! The emirates there will dogpile any Christian state that gets a litttle weak or tangled up in a war, so expansion must always be undertaken at a time when they are otherwise distracted or in concert with christian allies.

Yeah, the Iberian peninsula can be a little tricky to master. And sometimes you just need blind luck ;)

As soon as your troops are out of the country, other nations (including the christian ones) tend to pounce on you, if they think they can get away with it.
