Kingdom beyond the wall not collapsing?

So, I started as thenn, and became king beyond the wall, the thing said that the kingdom is not inherited, but when I died, my son inherited it like normal?

Is your son an adult and does he have either 500 prestige, 10 martial, 10 diplomacy or the formidable fighter trait? If so the higher titles are not destroyed on inheritance.

Oh, I was under the impression that only duchies were protected that way.
