unfortunately the game keep crashing after a few days, so I gave up the game. (I can't figure out why, it's lame)

How I started:

I rush industrial tech and some commerce tech for trading, DOW a random bankrupt nation (for more DI), improve relations with mexico, trade my techs (3 of them) for san diego, release poland, dissolve alliance with poland, truce with that random unciv, enact all social reforms (since my population is so puny that I don't need to pay a dollar for maintaining it)...immigrant influx, and soon I assimilated everyone in the province.

(an alternative would be a peru non-core province, or Taiwan from China, but those are not rich enough/not in america)

now Krakow is a 6 province minor, with 4 pacific islands and massawa in africa. Krakow does not intent to expand any further, they just want to maintain their independence. :D

the Krakowian navy is stronger than most european powers (they got 2 pre-dreadnoughts!), and without doubt if they lower my social maintainence they could go DOW autria and perhaps annex it in a few wars. Krakow had a million farmers ready for battle. (and without doubt the industry for it)

I feel it interesting to loan my old ironclad/Monitor navy to China, and those ironclads smashed the navies of those "great powers" when the boxer rebellion broke out. (for instance, the German and Japanese navies completely decimated)

If this game don't crash Krakow would certainly be #3 superpower, perhaps even stronger than the Greece in my previous game.

I reloaded a very early save and is currently in 1880s, this time I do even better(slightly) than my first attempt! (I consoled 2 times money in my first attempt, but my 2nd attempt is cheat-free)

Look how krakow, a 2 province minor, is richer than Italy and Sweden...

LOL wow that's awesome! I enough trouble playing great powers...could NEVER pull off something like that! =)

try it yourself, it is easier than you think.

money for industrialization(promoting capitalists), could be gathered by selling a tech or 2, that should give you enough money (together with your savings) to promote a capitalist.

Since the liberal party of krakow is pretty much OP it is very easy afterwards.

Why don't you buy Taiwan, then release Poland. Civilized asian country from the getgo, cha-ching.

It'd be kind of fun to use something like this to turn Hong Kong into a major power, but I imagine it'd be more of a headache in the end than what he already accomplished: there's a bonus to American immigration, remember. :)

Finished my game(almost)

Here is the glorious republic of Krakow, San Diego is the home of almost a billion Poles.

More than 80% of the population in the republic are of the home culture.

Krakow has more population than the USA, their neighbour

The homeland ... (actually I could try to buy back those provinces), Europe is dominated by Germany.

:O I have to try that myself.

How did you manage to assimilate the immigrants?

the krakow full citizenship liberal party ...

I didn't really do anything to assimilate the immigrants, it's just automatic.

and I didn't expand early in the game, thus the high population growth rate of San Diego really helped increasing my population.

Why does the USA include so much of Canada?

Very nice indeed. If I may ask, in the latest screenshot you own Alaska and most of the Caribean. Did you go conquering or did you, as I assume, buy the provinces?

I haven't checked the Krakowian Liberal Party, but I assume it's laissez faire, so did you leave industrial buildup to your capitalist?

In my games, USA everytime, literally everytime goes to war against UK around 1850 or so and takes most of Canada.

Georgia is indeed the worst country to play, the reason of this is Russia declaring war on You even in 1836. They just won't let you play :)

yes, the liberal party is lassie faire and was in power since Krakow moved to California.

Capitalists are particularly lazy not expanding factories until every factories are built, that's something since 1910s and thus my industrial score rocketed. I didn't expand much militarily and most province are bought with money/tech. Of course, with USA having less population and less military, I could easily go conquer the entire south america...

Something remarkable is that a huge amount of grain was produced back in the 1900s, about 300+ units in San Diego alone, imagine how many farmers were there. (I would have horribly high income if it wasn't grain!)

wow. i really do suck at this game.

so i have a couple of questions for you. how come with all your wealth, no great power thought about laying it's eyes on your richs, or does the AI only care about the BB score?

one more, how did you manage to industrialize with so few manpower? i usually leave 2 POPs for my RGOs, and with the amount of factories the capitalists build, i am sometimes left with a good couple of factories empty.

when I got my first bunch of wealth the first thing I do is to build a few divisions, I also fortify San Diego and garrison it heavily. Or else USA must have eaten me.

well, immigrants, those first filled up my RGOs, I expand my RGO 2 times, and start to get a good amount of money, I spent the money on a capitalist (that makes me go into a debt, but taxing the capitalist would help remedy the situation), then after my debt is gone nothing could stop me.
