Lag when moving across the map

Anytime (almost) I move far across the map, I have the game map look like trash for a few second, my HDD working hard, and the everything come back to normal.. In the game.log file, right in the middle of the game messages, there are recurring lines saying that kind of things:

Is this linked to what I described earlier ? Is there any way to solve that ?

DO you have Windows Vista? I have that at home and I have noticed that games will just pixilate for no reason. Other games, not just ours.
 
This is due to the graphics driver somehow loosing a bunch of graphics data. The game notices this and regenerates it from disk. Hence the HDD crunching/delay. I assume you are running vista?
 
no vista for me.. good old winXP SP2. However the drivers of my graphic card are quite old (GForce 6600GT, driver version 94.24). I have to try the latest to see if there is any change with this behaviour.
