Laptop computer hot key question

With a real keyboard, the hot key for changing the game speed in-game is ctrl+ and ctrl-.

Since laptops do not have a dedicated + & - key however, this does not seem to work. A + or - requires a shift.

So, what key combo works with a loptop then?
