Not only is it crashing more and more frequently during late game to an almost unplayable degree, it'll crash to desktop during an attempt to autosave and in the process, eliminate previous successful autosaves - I'm not sure if this is part of the rename/deletion process partially completing as my latest autosave when this has happened in the past will be called autosave in the launcher, but I'll only be able to load autosave_1 in the game itself, and I've tried most of the fixes I've seen commonly recommended by now (plus verified the integrity of the game files multiple times, deleted the shaders to have them recompiled on starting up the game, turned off fullscreen optimisations, etc.), cleared up space on my SSD to make sure there's room, and it almost felt like it made it worse? My latest save game now refuses to progress past the next month. Issue really started around 1900s. I have about a dozen and a half of these crashes in the log at this point; the most common error leading up to these seem to be
[jomini_script_system.cpp:265]: Script system error!
Error: scope:target trigger [ Failed context switch ]

but with some different script locations/files at different times.

Been sending in my crash reports, too.

Just want to finish out reaching 1936 for the first time.

EDIT UPDATE: Started a new game while I waited for a response, and it's already recurring in 1838, so I guess it's not actually related to how late in the game it is.

Assuming there are no mods in use, crashes during saves or autosaves are usually due to an antivirus app getting in the way, or a shortage of system memory.

So make sure victoria3.exe is in all the exceptions lists in your AV app, and that it is not doing realtime scans of the Documents/Paradox Interactive/Victoria3 folders.

And Please:

- expand your Windows paging file maximum size to at least 32gb
- exit every other app you can before starting the game.

Good luck!
