We could really do with some more job types and employment opportunities for the later game - I have so many unemployed colonists that I can't find jobs for. I could just create factories for the sake of it, but I'm producing more than I need already so there's no real point.

It would be cool if there were some later game professions and accompanying buildings that were a sign that the colony has moved from a science and mining base to a proper city - maybe some form of bureaucracy/government buildings that need functionaries and office staff? A media industry would also make sense, with journalists investigating martian news stories, radio DJs (I've often wondered where Joy from Quantum Sonics is actually working!) and companies making TV shows for their fellow martians and to transmit back to earth. It would add to the diversity of the colony and you'd have to educate colonists to work in these specialisms which would give the universities a new usefulness after you've researched all the automation techs.

I keep saying this, but: You are right theres too many people (Birthrate issue) and not nearly enough to do to, with or for them (develpopment issue, too little content).

They let us play over a span (with 1 sol equalling one year as they have specified) of centaries, but not the kind of cultural or political shift that would requre. Theres almoast no progression in terms of what you can build, and no reason to have more than the minimum population. The game 'finishes' in terms of nothing new to do long before it stops at the moment.

i've built up a colony with 5k people and this one has 2k people, and i still "love" the game because there's nothing like it, but im really at an end of anything worthwhile to do, the replay-ability is getting less and less as I've mastered the concepts to have a successful colony as efficiently as possible, this last play-through i did it on the hardest settings with meteors, storms, and dust happening damn near every other sol lol, but i mean even that can be circumvented with lasers (which are buggy dont even get me started there) and proper planning

more endgame would be nice

I am hoping there will be updates for late game tech. I mean one of the most pointless techs in the game at the moment is farm automation. It's a top tier tech so it was always be one of the last techs unlocked in its tree, and by the time its unlocked I'm usually putting in extra fungal farms and fusion power plants I don't even really need just to give people something to do. the last thing you really need by the end game, is reducing the workers required for farms.
