7. The game does not start:
Right click steamapps/common/Crusader Kings II/ck2game.exe, set compatibility to run in 640 X 480, then start from this .exe. Adjust your resolution through the in-game options and exit the game. Remove the check from 640 X 480 box and start the game from steam library.


What do I do if the 640 x 480 option is greyed out?

Wondered this myself. Came across that when looking for a quicker solution for my own problem, checked the exe properties and literally none of the compatibility options under settings can be ticked.

Forget it, your issue is very likely elsewhere. If I had time I'd remove that step!
