So I recently reinstalled Stellaris for the first time in ages, and the game failed to launch because the Launcher could not install. A window popped up saying it was on an invalid resource, so I opened google and looked into the problem.

Found a couple solutions that ultimately did not help. One solution said to uninstall the Paradox Launcher folders within AppData and Roaming and reinstall the game with Steam in Admin mode. Did that, still had the issue. Another said to remove the launcher from the apps and features list on my computer, only I can't do that. When I try to uninstall it it gives me the same error that the Launcher gives when trying to install it on Steam.

So now I'm posting this here, hoping I'll get an answer beyond uninstall it through Apps and Features because again, that does not work. It creates the same error message.

The 1603/1605 errors we see there are typically a previous other installation stuck, or a problem in the Windows update/install processes.

If you see msiexec running in Task manager-processes, kill it and try this launcher install again please.

Otherwise run the Update app in Windows, does it load okay, find anything to apply - whether a patch, update, or whole new Windows 10 version? If so do that and reboot, then try this launcher install again please.

If still no good, do you see Paradox Launcher v2 in the Windows Control Panel to uninstall? If so does it uninstall cleanly, or get an error doing that? If there's a problem doing that, use this MS tool to fix that:

Good luck!
