launcher doesn't work

whenever i start hoi4 in steam, the launcher loads but it says that it doesn't have read/write access to directory with game data. and that an error occured during database initialization. and it does not let me access dlc or mods. and i cant open hoi4 through the launcher. Edit: fixed the problem by myself

The problem isn’t from that list. I reset my whole a Mac and it didn’t fix it. BUT I FOUND A SOLUTION. When you go to the steam launch the game, when you’re on the launcher screen that says play go over to gam settings. Under game setting you should see graphics and directly under that Renderer. For whatever reason mine was set to Vulkan idk why. I switched mine to OpenGL and then went out and clicked play. I haven’t had any issues since. Let me know if this works for you!
