Launcher throws a Steam Runtime Communication Error

Description​

I try to play Vic3 on Linux (Ubuntu 18.04.6 LTS). On a clean install, the launcher throws a "Steam Runtime Communication Error" when I start it. If I select "Ignore" and try to start the game it throws another error related to the game being unable to find GLIBCXX_versionnr. I included three screenshots, as well as the launcher logs that I was able to export through launcher settings.

I followed all guides. I deleted and reinstalled Vic3, deleted all launcher files on Linux, but the bug keeps returning. These are the files and folders I removed

~/.paradoxlauncher
~/.local/share/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2
~/.local/share/Paradox Interactive/launcherpath

Steps to reproduce​

Try to launch Vic3 from Steam. Launcher starts and error is thrown

Hi. Victoria 3 is supported specifically on Ubuntu 22.04 and up-to-date glibc. It may not run on any older versions of Ubuntu and glibc library.

Those will be two unrelated problems.

As @PDX_Sosanna says, the second error is clearly a GLIBC problem with your Ubuntu version. Can you go to 22.04 or later?

Thank you for confirming my Ubuntu version is too old. Perhaps it is time to finally bite the bullet and upgrade
