Launching the game failed

Suddenly out of the blue Imperator Rome no longer starts from the launcher whether I click play or resume it crashes and I get the crash reporter. Running from GoG.
I did verify/repair and it did no good. I reinstalled and it did no good.
I have a very powerful machine and everything else is working flawlessly.
I do not have mods but I do have all the DLCs.
The only thing I have not tried is deleting my iron man save game.
Launcher version is 1.4.2 v. 2020.8
I updated my NIVIDIA Gefore Experience drivers very recently, could this perhaps have something to do with it ? Current version is GeForce Game Ready Driver 451.67

EDIT: I discovered the crash logs are in C:\Users\lgong\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Imperator\crashes so I added the last one

EDIT2: For good measure, I also added my C:\Users\lgong\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Imperator\save games folder

What antivirus app do you use? Add imperator.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.

I have Avast
After adding an exception for "C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\ImperatorRome\binaries\imperator.exe" my problem is resolved.
