Well the obvious changes to the Spanish leaders were to El Gran Capitan, Alvaro de Bazan, Hernan Cortez, Pizarro, and Alessandro Farnese. But they didn't overdue them which is great to see. Especially with EGC, with his 6 fire value, its nice, but not really broken, and now he becomes the best leader of that time. No more complaints there. :)

Farnese was another worry on my part and he gained a 6 shock. Nasty but at least he can be dealt with. But what Spain did get, were additional leaders for the latter periods which is nice.

All in all, this was my chief worry for 1.06 and Paradox came through without bending EU out of shape. I like the changes and this should go a long way to help MP play evolve.

Yeah, I tried hitting the spot between historicity and balance. Farnese IMO is inderdeed the biggest one and hardest to handle but I also upped Henri IV's stats.

Yeah, I think it was pretty well handled :)

The only think I would say is that I would probably have given Farnese more manuever (or as much) than shock. His maneuver is currently too low I think, and that isn't really a horribly unbalancing stat.

Oh, and Henri IV died in 1610. In the leader file he is only around from 1580 to 1590. He should have started earlier I think, and died in 1610. I guess it is too late to change that now though :(

But looks good!

Yeah, he should have high manouver but well, manouver is just about useless in teh game so giving him 6 in manouver is not going to make him a better leader on the battlefield.

Just wondering, but why was Turenne changed from a 5461 to a 5551? I kind of liked the 6 shock, it made him quite distinct from Villars later. I can see the argument for a 5 fire, but I also see the argument for a 6 shock (sort of)

And me sitting here thinking manouver should be pretty damn important. :(

it´s nice to see Spanish leaders improved to their real worth. It´s also good that with the new stats of Henri IV everybody seems happy and both historical acuracy and game balancing have been preserved. However let´s see what effects has this new patch in the game.

yeah it would be nice if maneuver were made influence:

- attrition, more than currently.
- movement speed
- "persuit"....and if more leaders were in the army then the one with the highest maneuver should be used to calculate persuit...this way a great cavalry commander would have high maneuver and shock.

Yeah, it'd be nice but it isn't ...

So then what exactly are the bonuses of the manuever stat for leaders as is?

Just helps against attrition for small armies. Unfortunately most major armies are so large they hit the attrition maximum and the maneuver stat is useless.

Probably the most useful for siege specialists since they sometimes need a large maneuver to keep sufficient troops to maintain their siege, and they are often stuck in one spot for extended periods.
