Well, I finally bought Sengoku. I may be late to the party, but I got here, didn't I?

I've only played very briefly, to try to get a feel for the game, but sieges struck me as not moving at all on their own. In CK or EU, you could see the province's morale bar go down significantly. Not so in Sengoku. Am I seeing things, or are assaults really the order of the day?

Sieges do take their time, but eventually the province will surrender. However do you have time to wait that the province surrenders and can you spare the losses you suffer when assaulting are thes questions you'll need to consider everytime you're fighting a war, especially if you're fighting several wars at the same time.

i too just recently purchased the game, about sieges, i have noticed that the more men you have at the siege the quicker it seems to go. another thing i noticed, is watching your vassals play the game. war erupted from a plot i was involved in. i raised levies and set out to conquer the enemies provinces. so did my vassals, send out armies. as i was besieging 3 provinces at once for awhile i noticed my vassal armies go off on their own and start besieging their own provinces. in just a matter of a couple years i went from somewhere in the order of 7% of japan to 20% all because of my vassals. as i watched my vassal armies they would assault the castles constantly. taking few losses and moving on to the next province with little to no resistance.

my vassals quickly wiped out the second largest clan in a matter of 3 years or so, just by assaulting and moving on. i too tried this with the armies i controlled, depending on the size of the army locked in the castle assaulting can be very rewarding. now i must say though that i am playing @ very easy as this is my first go at the game and still learning the ropes.
