At the moment the tool tip (if I'm using the correct jargon) in the technology map mode shows the tech levels of the country you're hovering over, and the terrain of the province you're hovering over. It would be nice if it could show the tech group of the country you're hovering over as well (or instead of the terrain of the province, which is more obvious from other map modes.)

On a similar note, it would be nice if hovering over the tech group in another country's diplomatic screen lets you see the tech penalty for that tech group. You can see tech penalties in country selection, but once you're in game, there's no way to know the effects of different tech groups without memorizing the numbers.

Cant there be a single mapmode for tech groups? Make much more sense. Hovering over each country to check if they are westernized is still a hell of a work. A complete new mapmode will fixs this completely.

Either that, or have some special display for western countries, like stripes for western countries if you're not western yourself.
