Definitely Darkest Hour, the only thing that holds it back is its outdated UI.

Darkest Hour is definitely the best, and was the game that made me play other paradox games.

Darkest hour is great (and I'm sure awesome for MP), but it's AI isn't as good as that in HoI3 (which, unfortunately, is saying something), and some of the set-up is a bit on the nose (Germany's buffed even more than your average HoI game, but maybe that's to compensate for the AI?), so it's got to be HoI3 for me. Both are good though, and there are deffo some things DH does better than HoI3, but HoI3 gave me a better game at the end of the day.

HoI3. Broken unit stats, AI issues, crashes, and a supply system best described as "a complete and utter clusterfuck", and highly constricted gameplay...but i still enjoy it.
Never managed to really get into DH.

Plus DH can hardly compete with those nice little sprites in HoI3.
