I hope there are different types of ships to reflect the many different ships of the line but I hope smaller ships are included with speed, turning, and scouting bonuses.

I imagine with different theatres of war being included(North America, India etc) naval units would have to be included. I have played a few different AGEOD games and they do include different naval units. As GB relied on it's navy in this period the naval mechanism must be well thought of and used. I can't wait for the this game.

The naval game will be in, of course, and fully detailed. You shall enjoy different ship types, hundreds of naval leaders, crew quality, naval fighting skills, overseas bases, close blockade, privateering, fireships, naval support, etc...etc...

Oh! That's really a (fancy) surprise :) Maybe one of the sinergies of the Philippes working with the PI team is enabling the best naval combat system in Clausewitz-

Great you're taking it in account. Blockades and naval battles were two important features in the conflict.

I could not agree with you more, how they impliment the blockades should be very interesting.

I hope you're giving the Danish Navy it's proper place, too. For the short period between Trafalgar (21/10-1805) and the Bombardment (5/9-1807), the Danish navy was second only to Britain's in terms of size, if you look at each state separately. Of course due to incompetence from the Danes and a Trojan Horse tactic from the British, this was never properly capitulated on.

Besides that niche wish, the mechanics listed look really good. Will there be Gunboats in the game too or are they considered (perhaps not unjustly so) too insignificant in their military impact? I could see the argument for both adding them and leaving them out.

I smell a decision, event, or mission. Could be an interesting chain of possible events here, Denmark a full french ally perhaps if great Britain try to sink the fleet.

Each ship will be named...I already have the ships lists of most major navies, down to sloop/brig and small vessels...captured ships will retain their names

Gets better each post! I think the captured ships maintaining their original names is sweet. You gotta love the humor of sinking British ships with other British ships.
