Alright well I've been busy working on my first official modding project for EU:Rome and here it is!

Basically I've added a ton of new names for the Romans and Greeks, as well as additional names for the Celtic, Illyrian, Thracian, and Dacian Culture Groups.

This is an initial version, eventually I'll add more and add to the other cultures too.

If possible I'll even try to make the names ultra-realistic in the future, but for now, deal with what we've got, which is a mix of Anglicized names along with a few Latin and Greek versions.

I added at least 82 new Nomen for the Romans, and more Cognomen than I even cared to count. You'll get a lot more variety in your randomly generated characters as well as your children. Should be a lot more interesting, especially for those of you interested in writing an AAR or anything like that.

Also, any other mods can feel free to use my work, and Paradox can even feel free to add those names to their list since all I really was doing was browsing the internet and copy/pasting anything good I could find that was relevant (or at least semi-relevant) to our time period.

If you do wish to include it in a mod, all I ask for is just a little credit (Hey we all like our names getting mentioned!)

Note: I did not delete any of the names that were already included in the vanilla version, so assuming you have a mod that hasn't changed the names or cultures you can feel free to just copy the whole file over.

Anyways, enjoy it, and I look forward to releasing more small mods in addition to updating this one, and eventually once I get enough small mods under my belt I'll wrap them together in one neat little package for an overall more enjoyable experience.

Looks good, one of the biggest problems with not being able to identify with the characters. The roman names that all sound oh so similar and the very few at that certainly didn't help. Sounds like a great idea, I'll check out your mod later (which btw adding names is basically the only thing that is also included in the file that includes changing country colors, so as soon as I'm back at my regular house I'll release instructions/an easy zip on how to use both our mods if anyones interested).

Sounds good. You see an immeadiate difference when you boot the game up and you check your randomly generated governors. Hopefully now there will be many more unique characters per game rather than your generic "Gaius Flavius Balbus"s that seem to crop up by the hundreds.

Ok like an idiot I forgot to include the actual "common" folder in the .rar

Updated and fixed!

Hey Cheexsta!

Yeah, I don' thave as much free time as I'd like, but I'm trying to save my money, so the best way for me to do that is sit at home and play EU:R or try to mod something. ;)
