So I've been poking around the in game encyclopedia, and I realized that if you search unit abilities, it lists units with that ability but NOT mods that grant it. If there's one change to the in game database that would be the one to go with. It actually had me scratching my head because I didn't understand just how few units had detection at base. Then I realized every race gets an early detector mod for their units.
I ALSO didn't realize until manually searching through that THREE factions(Syndicate, Kirko, and ASSEMBLY?!) get a mod that grants universal concealment.
Thing is, while units are still varied, at superficial glance they seem a bit less varied than the last game. This is deceptive though, as the number of mods that grant abilities actually shoots the playstyle options FAR beyond AOW3. Mods desperately need to be searchable indirectly by looking up abilities they grant. Because otherwise I'd have no idea I could dabble in sneaky shenanigans as Assembly, for instance.
