Loaded saved game and Nation changed

What's going on. I was playing as France (V 1.08) and had captured most of Spanish Netherlands, Calais, Milan when I had to save game (sorry guys wimp I know - only a 2 hour session!).

When I came back to it and loaded up my 'France' save game, I had turned into Spain!!!!!!!!! Whattttt.

What's all this about?

U wouldn't have started a new game as Spain in between, would u ? And then tried loading ur France game ?

Change of Nation

Yes I did, but I was careful to save them as France and Spain respectively.

Is it a bug?

Not really, this way u can change nations in game. Play a game as France for 100 years for example. Ur doing very well and it isn't very challenging. U save, start a new game with Spain for example. While in that game u load ur previous save and now ur in control of Spain to fight the French empire u have build, a whole new game.

If you load your France saved game from scratch you won't have a problem.

If you open a game as England, then load your France saved game, you will be England in the ongoing campaign, etc.

If you open a game as Holland and then load your saved game which doesn't have a Holland in it, you get introduced to your desktop

I once saved a game and then was able to select another nation when I opened that same game. I believe it was the War of Independence Scenario, and I had been the U.S., and then was (accidentally) able to re-open as England. Which was troublesome, because I had been destroying the English, including burning every last one of their Canadian trading posts and then colonizing all of them myself .
