Loading crash

I read the post

The problem is that toward the end of loading, after the visual of the cathedral etc., the screen goes black , the cursor is gone, and I must reboot the computer.
The error message is: App name eu2 exec App ver 1.0.0.1 Modname: eu2 .exe
Mod ver 1.0.0.1 Offset col ba33
Two years ago it loaded fine and only crashed occasionally with the 1.09 patch.

Try renaming the AVI directory (under the EU2 dir) to anything else.

Since it worked 2 years ago, had you uninstalled and reinstalled, or just left it there?

I changed the AVI filename as you suggested and it loads fine.
