Has anyone else experience the problem with reloading saved games?

Everyone is using version 1.05N of EU2, and the host has a DSL connection. Firewalls, Messengers, and virus scanners are turned off.

Problem:
The game loads but one player receives major bonus in Dip/Col/Mer while losing some control over his armies. We also found latency issues when players started chatting in the save game.

Questions:
What is the best number of players?
Can new players join in save games?
Can players join in games in progress?

I have seen changes in game loads occasionally, its normally fixed in the next reload and its infrequent enought not to worry about bar in the more extreme circumstances.

Your Chat latency issues are caused by poor file load discipline. Dont direct load, use ICQ file exchange, dont chose a host file until everyone is loaded and present in the host game 'waiting room'. We never have the chat lag/ crash any more when we strictly follow this proceedure.

The number of players is unimportant as long as you are all disciplined players. The only difference is that with 7 or more players
is that the speed needs to drop from 2:1 to 1:1 otherwise the amount of crashes goes up.

Yes players may join in save games, but no they may not join games in progress. You will need to stop and reload to let them in.

Also not that if you have a saved game and you and your friends want to continue don't host it in the vnet. Start an ip-internet game. This way there won't be anyone in vnet entering your game, leaving, and causing you to rehost.
