Looking for a little help from you MP veterans...

Hi there.

I'm trying to answer a support question relating to EU1.10 and I'm not sure of the answer so I thought I'd ask you MP veterans for some help.

Here's the question....

Hello ,my brother and i both have the game europa univerrsalis with the 1.10 patch installed the game is fine except for the multiplayer chat it will not work . when we type in a message and hit enter it shows the message only to the player sending it and also the words unknown command error in red comes up under the message we cannot communicate we have tried it during game play and also while the game is paused . we have uninstalled and reinstalled the game and the patch . it shows the patch is installed we can see 1.10 in the upper left hand corner of screen . Please any help we would appreciate it THANKS ALOT .

I know that's not a huge amount of info to work with, but any ideas/suggestions from any of you EU1 MP veterans would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like they type in the F12 console. Try pressing TAB to talk (unless that worked differently in EU1 )

That's what I was thinking but I've never played EU1 MP so I wasn't sure. This question originates from a customer who contacted SF so I don't want to reply to their tech support guys until I'm fairly confident that I'm offering a reasonable/accurate resolution.

I had this once with some other old game, the problem was that we both had the same version of the game. I dont think EU1 has version problems, but this is the only think i can think of, next to what was already mentioned. Maybe a fresh reinstall of the TCP/IP or IPX protocols would do the job?
