I have been trying for some time to get a long term campaign going, but without any real luck.
The players I'm looking for MUST fit the following description:

You have be dedicated (this is VERY important!) and interested in playing a game to the end.
You must have somewhat flair for diplomacy as well, as I find this aspect equally (perhaps more) important as war in mp EU2. With this, I mean that I don't wanna play with someone who refuse to negotiate (whether it's peace or something else), and who is all "my way or the highway". I don't like playing with someone who would rather ruin his country and the game for everyone else, than to accept a defeat.
You must have fast and stable connection, and it's prefereble that you are European since we will play at evenings GMT time. You must be able to play one or two times a week.

The game will not start before 1½ month or so, since I won't be able to go online very much during that period. The reason why I try to organize the game now is, that I then have plenty of time to find players who fit the above description.
If you can identify yourself with the player description, and would like to participate in my campaign, feel free to post. But please DO NOT apply if you cannot fully commit to my "requirements"! I have seen more than once, that it only takes 1 asshole to ruin a good game.
As to the more in-game description, the game will be (as mentioned) the 1492 campaign. Settings will be very hard (or hard, up for discussion)/aggressive(or normal, up for discussion), FOG of War ON, NO missions. Speed will be 1:2 or 1:1 depending on number of players and how good the host is (I can't do 1:2 with more than 4-5 players). Selectable countries will be:
England
France
Spain
Austria
Brandenburg
Venice (I'll take Venice myself)
The above 6 countries must be represented. 2 more can be selected from the following:
Ottoman Empire, Denmark, Muscowy, Sweden, Portugal - or maybe some other country, if you have good arguments to include it.
We will play by the following rules (most of them made by Mowers):
1) You may only convert to CRC once.
2) You must answer peace offers within one month.
3) Players are not allowed to force convert pagans through peace treaties in the ToT. Conversion of rump state Pagans is allowed for later diplo-annexation, but Spain is not allowed to abuse this by taking the Pagan capital via the ToT.
4) Playable countries can not be attacked when not played, and when attacked by one a white peace must be gained.
5) You may only have 4 colonies in progress at any one time, there is no limit on the number of TP's you can have.
6)The highest fortress you may build outside of Europe, North Africa and Asia Minor is Medium Fortresses to avoid colonies with low support level being impossible to siege. CoT's, however, are an exeption. They may be upgraded to maximum.
7) If a player has agreed to attend a session and don't show up, the others will find a capable (capable is important) replacement, or run it with AI. Eitherway, the player will not be entitled to complain. Another option is, that the player realises that he can't attend, and finds a sub of his own.
