I'm looking for a group who plays campaigns (preferably 1936) 1 night a week (weekday pref) around 7pm'ish Pacific Time US.

I'm newer to HOI2, bought DD. Rather experienced in strategy games, very knowledgable in WW2 history....and willing to learn HOI2. I like to play somewhat romantically. Not looking to reenact WW2, but like to see countries play somewhat in character but still have freedom to make decisions as needed to win.

Please send me a private message with your contact info and lets look for me getting in on your next start.

I'd be interesting in joining in with this group as well, as I'm in the same time zone and also an MP noob.

Respond here if I have an invitation to join.

Thanks!

im an mp noob as well, looking to join a game... so how does this stuff work?

Well, my understanding of the process is:

1. People agree on a time and stick with it.

2. One person with the best machine and network connection agrees to be the host. Sets up a multi player game on Vnet or by letting all the other players know their IP address

3. Non-hosting players connect to the host machine.

4. Play, generally sticking to an agreed upon game speed (Normal for non-war years, slow for war time?).

5. When the game crashes, the host loads the last autosave and the players reconnect.

Not too complicated at first glance, but I've heard it can be unstable at times, and so everyone needs to have patience.

Anything I've missed?

I've only gotten a response from one group so far. While definately organized and a great group, their time zone doesnt match up... :( :( :(

So I guess we can start our own....here is the link to the yahoo group. I've used Yahoo in the past and its gives plenty of functionality for free, cant complain.

Head over and request to join and I'll accept.

I joined your Yahoo group, aphrochine. Let's hope we can get this one off the ground!

Yeah I hope. Also, this isnt exclusive, so feel free to join any other group or if you're hanging with a group already...hop in. Lets try to get a few more people in there and then start talks about getting a game up and running.

Durruti, Unfortunately I only own DD. I dabbled with vanilla, but never bellied up to the bar until DD came out.

We need about 4 or so more. As noted, we're not exclusive so even if you're in a group now and wanna just be in the loop, hop in the group.
