Using v0.7, and suddenly imprisoning landed targets that show no tyranny for imprisoning suddenly gives me an instant popup that removes the just trait.

So far it did this on Gregor Clegane the mountain, Dany seems to have just cause to put him behind bars, and the other one is on Littlefinger who's plotting to kidnap Catelyn Tully.

Well I'm completely stumped on this one. I realize when imprisoning it triggers the events to add to your tyranny trait, though why it goes through when the action is supposed to be tyranny free I don't understand why. The event says it requires a tyrant opinion modifier, though even when I take off the tyrant trait on my character with the console it still triggers the unjust imprisonment. Could it be the game keeps a different and hidden tyrant modifier?

Here's a save from a completely different game than my OP and it still does the same thing on imprisoning valid people

edit: Just noticed that the High Septon has the 'Tyrant: -20' opinion modifier, where as the other vassals only have the 'Liege is Tyrant: -5'. Not sure why but I think this might be a reason my just imprisonments are not working correctly.

ok last bump, since I figured out what happened and how to avoid it in the future.

Basically at the end of a mega war (claim on iron throne) I was allowed to imprison a bunch of people (jaime and cercei's kids). Seeing how they all had claims I thought to myself why not execute these prisoners.

Once they were imprisoned their liege changed to some foreign person, in Pentos or somewhere else out there, and when using the execute button all it said was that the lords of Pentos (or wherever) would not be happy and I'd get a -10 penalty to opinion. Nothing about tyranny so I gladly executed them.

The thing is that executing did indeed give me the vanilla tyrant penalty to some lords (as mentioned above with the high septon) but it did not give me the GOT mod tyrant trait as you usually get when being a tyrant. So doing it that way, when I'd go to legally imprison characters, and I'd imagine other tyrant free legal actions, I would get penalized by the on action event: adding the correct tyrant trait (-5 to -15 etc) and removing my character's just trait if they had it, because some lord had the vanilla tyrant opinion modifier on me... or at least that's how I'm reading the event scripts. Might be off I know though it seems to be making the most sense. These being the on_actions 150 through 154 if I remember right.

I suppose if those imprisoned changed their liege lord to someone within my realm it would of prevented this, or if the illegal executions did add the tyrant trait as I guess it should have even with those executed being in another realm, would've fixed the whole problem.

At least now I know to hold back on killing people in my jail if it says penalty to opinion even if it doesn't mention tyranny. Or any other action with the same explanations, and I've as yet encountered weird unjust actions.

I run into the same playing as pirate, I often sell people into slavery that I have either captured or imprisoned. I think the ones I capture in battle are fair game, and can be sold without tyranny but the ones that imprison for plotting cannot be sold as such, and thus I get tyranny. Problem is that I get so many possible people to sell that I can't keep track of them all and end up selling the wrong ones.

Hmm, recently Paradox changed how tyranny works with executions. So we now get strange situations where Pentos is angry that a Lannister is executed but everyone is cool with it because he is nominally a vassal of Pentos.

Will look into adjusting this so the right people get angry at executions after a mega war. Thanks for reporting on this issue!
