Summary
Mac OS Sonoma 14.3.1 (latest) Apple silicon crash to desktop on event trigger/date for Scythe 1.12.1Description
Present since game version 1.11, with or without mods (auto accept indulgences). Cannot submit bug report due to 'failure to report' message when attempting to do so on mac OS. Therefore, writing report here.Randomly, a save file will decide that it will crash at a given date or upon event window of some kind showing itself (too brief for me to see). I will be able to continue the save file only when playing on a Windows machine, and then return back to loading it on mac OS, only to have the crash appear again at a later date. Most recently, occurred within a few months of game time with completely fresh copy of CK3 with all expansions/DLCs installed from Steam on Mac OS. Tried without mods, same crash at same date. I am uploading one of the most recent crash dumps, as I cannot tell the difference between modded/unmodded. I believe the issue is MacOS specific, or at least Vulkan-specific, since it does not occur on Windows and can be avoided even in the same save file when opened under DX11 on any Windows machine.
Steps to reproduce
Open the game on Mac OS. Start a game. Play game for X months to centuries. Wait for event or data that appears random to me, before suddenly crashing to desktop. Reopen the file, save to cloud on Steam, switch to Windows machine, continue game for a while on Windows past the crash date. Save, then eventually reopen on Mac OS because Windows gaming laptops are heavy beasts with terrible battery life. Crash again. Rage at the world. Be sad. Repeat the above process.Game Version
