Howdy everyone. So it's been a few years now, but Magicka won't play. When I start it up, everything is fine but looking at my CPU usage, it skyrockets and gradually gets to 100% at whic time the game becomes so slow it's unplayable along with crackling audio. The game itself is only using about 600mb of memory, so I don't believe it's a memory leak. And I have tried to reinstall, and verify the game cache.
I have tried every setting I can think of. Magicka 1 doesn't have much in the way of video settings, but I did change what is in there, like Shadows, Particle Effects and Particle Lights, to as low as possible, and that didn't change anything. I did try it in compatibility mode for all Windows XP and Vista, just in case, but again, no change.
Here are my specs:
i5-3770k 3.2ghz (OC to 4.2)
16gb Ram
GTX 970
ASRock Z77 Extreme4 Motherboard
Corsair CS750 PSU
Please let me know if anyone has had this issue before or anything I can do to get it fixed.
