Most of the time I see trade offers like that
50 food for 150 microelectronics, 50 concrete for 100 polymers, 0 electronics for 1000 research and something like that.
They are unreasonable most of the time, can't remember when i used this feature actually. Maybe they should be adjusted to be more appealing, taking resource value in account.

While a lot of the offers are disagreeable to me, they do tend to be reasonable, and I have done multiple trades - selling metals for funding (Blue sun) and food for science (Europe) tends to be popular ones. Typically they tend to be based on what the other colonies have lots of, and what they can afford to part with.
Never seen an offer requiring selling of research before though - nor any offer having a 0 on one side... Basically all of the offers you mention seems unlike any I've seen

You can set up your own trades as well, to sell what you have in excess, and look at what the other colonies have plenty of that you may need. Most of the time I keep a steady flow of imports of one resource I have little production of while focusing on the others.

Blue Sun is broken IMO, they offer way too much money for whatever resource they ask for.
