Hey!

For the longest time I have been put off this game for a very simple reason: it's impossible to make marinas. You know, those things that define a lovely coastal city. You know, these things:

There aren't even any sailboat models in the workshop. A few motorboats, but I'd like to think more highly about the virtual residents :) Am I the only one bothered by the lack of this very prominent feature in game? And being that I'm completely clueless when it comes to making any kind of models, I'm wondering if there is a way to make models float on water anyways? I saw some models in 3d model galleries that would probably work, but I have no idea as to how to apply to those in game. Even if I managed to get them imported into the game, wouldn't they just stand on their keel hovering abowe water?

if you want marinas you'll need to buy After Dark. they don't really have much function though

Hello, you are not the only one interrested in this feature. ;) I belive, this is somewhere on the development plan since we already had patch with quays and canals and this feature was suggested before. After Dark marinas do not possess this function and they are usually ridiculously high. I hope potential upgrade might improve them too. There is ship line tool in workshop too but no big boat parking places just yet.

Thank you for the replies. In fact, I bought after dark mostly because it promised a marina, but I was severely disappointed in the funny little pier with couple of motor boats. I'm hoping to someday be able to build a real marina with a cool wave breaker and such. With the current props, rocks seawalls and differend kinds of industrial props I can actually do a decent layout and a boat yard, but can't manage the actual marina. So please devs, Sweden and Finland build the best yachts (Hallberg-Rassy, Najad, Swan), show some love for that maritime heritage :)

However, I would settle for knowledge if this can be somewhat easily done via importable 3d models. I haven't found anything about making a floating model and while I have a longish summer holiday, I'm not going to spend it in front of a computer only to learn that I have imported non functional models...
