Manpower help?!more manpower in my country?

I started to play crusader kings and its fun and great game.
But i have 1 question how can i gain more manpower?

Via Cheating or proper gaming?

If it's cheating check my newly started thread just two topics below this one if you want it without editing than you should expand your provinces. Build castles once you researched them, build training grounds, raise the prosperity of a province, expand your demesne, get vassals and get a king with decent enough skills to raise a large army... oh yeah certain setting like regal supremacy for the church give you troops for piety and so on and if you cut down the scuttage to 0 you may also see an increase.

Just to rectify

Castles and Training Grounds do not give you additional manpower ... Castles increase the supply limit, and Training Grounds help the speed of which your regiments regain lost manpower.

The best way and easiest to gain more manpower is to increase your combined Stewardship score. The better it is, the higher your province income becomes, and that is the main factor of how many troops you can raise in a province. Building Glass-factories and Mines increase base income by +1 ... which makes both those no-brainers to build as soon as you are able.

So you might want to marry someone from your dynasty to a female with very high Stewardship score .... f.x. going from a Steward with a score of 8 to one with 14 is going to mean a huge increase in income (and thus manpower).

Ofcourse the more provinces you have, the more regiments you'll have. Vassals' armies are free of charge in regards to upkeep. Just make sure that your vassals are loyal enough.

You can fiddle around with laws and power class settings, but neither is going to make a huge difference.

tempest, as usual, you are a font of knowledge. is there anywhere that compares all the province improvements? i don't think i saw it anywhere in the faq forum. but i have been known to miss things

D'oh! i went and looked again, and saw the chart threads right there! tho they are old charts, the newest from 1.03b i believe.

do you think they would be close to DV info?
