Map gets stuck on region mapmode

Sometimes when I select an air unit, give it an order like "air superiority," after I choose the area to patrol, I can no longer switch map modes at the bottom.

Using the latest patch, and thanks for any suggestions. Great game - can't believe I didn't get it a year ago!

Is this still the case when you save and load the game? In that case would you mind sending that savegame to florian@paradoxplaza.com.

Saving and restarting cures the problem, so my guess is it's on my end. Haven't seen it re-emerge in a while.

Okay let's try some standard things.
1) Make sure you have the latest patch for the game.
2) Rename the AVI folder to AVI_back
3) Set the color depth to 16BIT
4) Turn off everything in the background like E-mail/ICQ/Messenger, Virus protection and everything in the system tray beside the clock.
5) Update your Windows, update your Video card drivers and audio card drivers. Then repeat steps 1-3.

I have the same problem, almost every time I play. Saving and reloading fixes it, but eventually the map gets stuck again . . .

I have not played enough with 1.3a yet to know if it happens with the patch
