I've been playing plain vanilla EU2 for a long time now and I thought it might be time to try something different. So I was wondering....

What is the difference between MyMAP and WATK? Which do you think is better, and why?

EDIT: Ignore that part. There's another thread in this forum that asks the same question, and I'll just read it. How I missed it, I have no idea.... :eek:o

EDIT: Oh, now I know. Yakman just resurrected that thread. That's why I didn't notice it. Well, now I feel better. :)

Anyway....

With which mods do MyMap and WATK work? I know MyMAP works with Vanilla 1.09 and AGCEEP, but does it work with any other mods, like EP? I don't see how it could, because it adds new provinces, but then I don't understand how it can work with Vanilla in the first place, for the same reason.

MyMap is a standalone mod, it merely incorporates its own version of AGCEEP that has been adapted for MyMap, that's why it's called MyMap-Agceep (the MyMap adaptation of AGCEEP). The two do not exactly correspond.

I know...but I was wondering more about MyMap and WATK as stand-alone mods, or in conjunction with other mods besides AGCEEP.

There's about a dozen threads on this topic. You could go and look at the answers there rather than starting another one to ask the same qustion.

I did...I just had a different question, and didn't see the other threads.

Nevermind. I'll figure it out myself.

EDIT: In any case, none of those threads was visible when I started this one, because they were all more than a month old. The two that are open now were either started or resurrected after I posted this one.

You can have WATK, MyMAP and even mods for original Paradox map together, but you must use correct tools. For this was created Mod Launcher.

This tool is helping moddir function to operate with modified maps, thus you don't need rewrite original Paradox map, but you'll simply put the new map in the mod folder. So instead installing WATK over Eu2, you can install it into separate folder within Eu2 as any ordinary mod. ;)

Oh, thank you. :)

Oh, now I get it. WATK can only be used on its own and in scenarios specifically designed or adapted for WATK. When WATK says it can be used in Vanilla, it doesn't really mean that---it means that WATK comes with its own scenario that mimics Vanilla.

Thank you; now I understand.
