I noticed this in both HOI 2 1.1 and 1.2. My map occationally goes all different shades of grey and no matter what map view button I push, it stays that way until I reload the game. The entire map looks like the out of range portion of the map when setting a planes mission.

I haven't hit on exactly what is causing it, but it is definetly caused by somehing I do. My intutition says it happens after setting a planes mission, but I am not sure.

Am I the only one.

You are the only one to report it.

MAke sure you have the latest video driver for your video card.
Also set color depth to 16BIT.

Thanks, I can do that, but I pretty sure that won't fix it. My reason is that the map view looks like I am trying to set a ait mission to a unit that has zero range. In other words, its not that the scrren is flaky or acting oddly, but rather its using an in-game presentation..

It has to be that the program is presenting the view for some reason, that I have not figure out yet. I am going to play around with it and see if I can at least determine when it happens.

You may want to try uninstalling and reinstalling, then just apply the 1.2 patch.

I have exactly the same problem. For me it happened when I was setting the mission for a V1 rocket. Before that all air missions that I set up worked fine. If anyone has had some success fixing this problem can they post here what they did, I suspect that I am probably going to have to reinstall. Although I have to wonder whether it will just happen again once I do the same thing again. Currently I am patched with 1.2 if that helps any.

Same advice as above.
Reinstall then just apply the 1.2 patch.
