Imperator: Rome has very usefull feature with the automation of armies. However these armies tend to resupply in provinces that have a high supply limit (espacially the capital province). This means if you are barely able to feed that province, you'll be sure that some doomstack will come along and eat all the bread that was meant for your nobles.
It's not always possible to decrease the size of your stacks in peacetime. If you have large clan retinues or a disloyal general, then all bets are off, so please give us a button to prohibit armies from entering a province. Don't make it just owned provinces either, because such a feature could be used to better guide your automated armies.

This should be automatic not manual prohibition. Automated armies shouldnt station themselves in province where their resuplying would result in food shortages.

Agree, though it is debatable IMO, if disloyal generals should care as well. On the on hand you could argue that they just don't mind causing such problems (or are even interested in sparking disorder), but on the other hand: Why should they anger the people they might need in the next moment to win their civil war? Maybe the personality traits could affect that...

Agreed, if for nothing else, AI states should be able to handle this properly themselves as a result.

I'd lean towards Disloyal Generals not being bothered unless it attritions their troops.

Making food shortages attrition the troops seems like a great incentive to make them move out. When a province is in the red food storage range and the food supply is still decreasing then the population should start actively hoarding the scarce food supplies. If the army is continually fighting the local population for food then their moral or war readiness should start to decrease or more slowly recharge. This would happen with disloyal generals and in occupied territory. Although maybe the moral penalty would be less when you are pillaging foreigners for food.
