CORE 0.25, event = 470022
Playing almost historical Japan (I didn't changed any domestic sliders) I had the "Renewed Fighting in China" event. Because NatChi didn't destroyed these two minors in north and south (CSX and CGX) I DoWed them all. It means three DoW's and about 17-18 dissent. Even after -10 dissent from event I still have about 7 dissent, which is really unhandy. Is it WAD? Should I really have such high dissent? Maybe -20 dissent in this event would be more appropriate value? I suppose that war with China shouldn't be opposited by Japanese society, am I right?
(Btw. CORE rules. As usual :) )

I slightly went in Hawk lobby and Interventionism, through some events. So my Japan is rather warlike.

Hi,

This sounds a bit odd to me as I don't recall seeing this issue come up in game myself. 0.30 will be out shortly and maybe you won't see this issue with that release. If it still happens let us know and we'll take another look at it.

Perhaps I should clarify a little. Event is ok, I just wonder is it designed to give Japan such big dissent.
Here's the event:

event = {
id = 470022
random = no
country = JAP

name = "EN470022"
desc = "ED470022"
style = 0
picture = "Marco_Polo"

trigger = {
exists = CHI
random = 20
event = 470021
NOT = {
war = { country = JAP country = CHI }
puppet = { country = JAP country = CHI }
war = { country = JAP country = CSX }
puppet = { country = JAP country = CSX }
war = { country = JAP country = CGX }
puppet = { country = JAP country = CGX }
alliance = { country = JAP country = CHI }
alliance = { country = JAP country = CSX }
alliance = { country = JAP country = CGX }
alliance = { country = CHI country = SOV }
alliance = { country = CHI country = USA }
alliance = { country = CHI country = ENG }
control = { province = 1205 data = JAP }
}
}

date = { hour = 22 day = 0 month = june year = 1937 }
offset = 5
deathdate = { hour = 22 day = 29 month = august year = 1939 }

action_a = {
name = "EAA470022"
ai_chance = 99
command = { type = war which = CHI }
command = { type = war which = CSX }
command = { type = war which = CGX }

command = { type = belligerence which = JAP value = -30 }
command = { type = relation which = USA value = -10 }
command = { type = relation which = ENG value = -10 }
command = { type = relation which = SOV value = -10 }
command = { type = relation which = CHI value = -50 }
command = { type = relation which = CSX value = -50 }
command = { type = relation which = CGX value = -50 }
command = { type = dissent value = -10 }
command = { type = domestic which = interventionism value = 1 }
command = { type = domestic which = defense_lobby value = 1 }
command = { type = sleepevent which = 470023 }
command = { type = sleepevent which = 470024 }

}
action_b = {
name = "EAB470022"
ai_chance = 1
command = { type = dissent value = 5 }
command = { type = belligerence which = JAP value = -50 }
command = { type = domestic which = interventionism value = -3 }
command = { type = local_setflag which = concession_open }
}
}

So if you choose 'A' you DoW three countries and as a consequence of three dows JAP get about 17-18 dissent (I don't remember how much exactly it was). Then you get -10 dissent so you had about +7 or 8 dissent. Quite high for me.
And there's a question:
a: is Japan supposed to have such high dissent from this war
or
b: event's author asssumed that before this war NatChi conquer other chinese minors (CSX, CGX). So JAP Dow's only NatChi and in this situation -10 dissent from event will remove all dissent from dowing them.
(I'm sorry if I'm unclear but I'm rather poor in english :eek:o )

It seem logical to me that this war cause dissent. Why wouldn't it ?
