Hi all, I keep getting the events which suggest I review who is my Steward ; the one with the large amount of money disappearing from the treasury. Each time it happens, I change the steward, in case it's that particular person being dishonest. But it's happened three times in the last few years - is this due to my insane king with realm duress, or is it because I keep appointing the wrong courtiers, or is it completely random? I'd like to know how I can make it less likely to happen (in game I mean) because I can't keep losing 2 grand! :-D

As far as I know it happens when a disloyal character has the job.
Appoint a loyal courtier.

Though, with Realm Duress, loyal courtiers are a rare commodity.

Indeed

But if you have one that is loyal, it will probably be better than a better one who is disloyal even if the loyal one have bad stats, since they tend to steal A LOT of gold every time.
