Let's convert mds 1.6 for DH light use. With the modding guide, it will be rather easy, plus the mod is offering something unique.

Who can get the job done? :)
 
I'm doing a mod that's based on this but it's using the Full map. can you tell me why should mods be using Light? Honest question.

Maybe becuase he wants a version to play a modern conflict campaing and finds the current version of mds to look good and doesn't have HoI II. And of course not having to wait atleast 3-6 months for your mod, more likely over a year looking at how far you have gotten.

FYI I just started 7 days ago.

I like to see someone else do a MDS mod though. I might even play it :D
 
Here you are btw, just put the mds 1.6 files in the mod folder of DH then copy over the files from darkest hour mod pack. Then overwrite the db files from the mod pack with the ones i attached and it should work. (I didn't try it for more than a month due to the horrible delay between days i get with this mod on my laptop, so prepare for something to go horribly wrong)

I have done myself "AOD/Arma MDS 1.6 mix" port to DH Light but it is lagging like hell (~5 seconds) on 24:00 and ai is dumb cause it wasn't finished at all(us not attacks irak for months). Well may be some trouble is because of mixing MDS and Arma MDS versions but lagging and ai problems are in AOD and Arma too.
So i gave it up.
 
Yes there are alot of events that trigger almost daily and the mod also uses quarterly events to stimulate economic growth for countries. I played it a bit further today and the 24:00 lagg is pretty bad for the first month at about 5-6 second delay then it gets reduced quite alot down to about ~1 second until ww 3 starts then its up to a 3 second delay, pretty managable probably alot better for most based on the fact that i use a crappy laptop. Also AI works just fine for me.

Any Armageddon 1.3 compatible mod can be ported to Darkest Hour (using the old map of course) usually in 5 to 30 minutes.
HoI2/Doomsday mods could require some AI files tweaking at the intelligence section at least, but that is more or less optional and the basic compatibility is still very high.

For example I was able to port Confederate Armageddon mod in about 5 minutes, C.O.R.E. for Armageddon 1.3 beta2 can be ported in about 15-20 (because of the bigger mod size). It is quite simple and is explained into modding documentation.

Keep in mind that I'm not familiar with this mod, so my post is more general.

1) Unrar the 3 files that I downloaded in a folder.
2) Aply the beta 3 patch in the folder
3) Download the 1.2 patch and copy only the exe file in the MDS folder.
4) Apply the provided NTL patch
5) Paste the db gobbothegreen gave. (forgot to thank him :D )
6) Move the folder to the DH mods one.
7) Start the mod via the launcher.

The mod loads, but when I pick a nation and click "start" to start a new game it collapses without reporting an error. Tried to launch the mod on itself, It all runs fine , but there are no sprites in neither army, navy or airforce. :S

I tyhin kthe problem is the no time limit you wont need it on DH and it probably breaks the game for you.
You only need to
1) Download Mds 2 1.6
2) unrar beta patch 3 into that folder
3) go to the modding documentatino folder in the DH folder and copy the files inside Darkest hour Mod Pack in the Mds folder overwrite all files needed.
4) use the files inside the db file i provided in the db folder of MDS overwriting all the files (most of these files comes from the mod pack so its not really necessary to use the db part there but its more conenient ot just copy everything)
5) Put in DH mods folder (could do this from the start really)
6) Play
( and if you ever find another arma mod you really want its really just to write XXXX.csv a few hundred times and maybe change a few values in the misc)
