  • Crusader Kings II: The Old Gods
Do any exist?

Does anyone intend to make one?

I think that once Vae Victis is released it would be pretty cool if someone got round to making one. I think a medieval mod would certainly get me interested in the game. :eek:o :D

Interesting mod, although I was thinking a slightly earlier scenario.

Scotland seems a bit big, by the way. :eek:o

I know, but that is because of the basic province sizes in EU:Rome, maybe ( repeat: maybe) I'm gonna alter the map a bit so it looks at least a little bit better.

I may, if I can. The hardest thing would be creating all the 1/2 province Frankish kingdoms. Also, it is pretty hard to track down sources of where all the Germanic tribes were. We know where Germania Superior and Minor were because they were more civilized. So it's going to be hard, but I may try.. What year were you thinking, like 1000 A.D.?

I'd like a Wars of the Roses-style mod with VV, because of the Court/Senate system, and I just love Rome's overall dynastic feel (a watered down CK in an EU3 environment); alas, that is pretty much all I do like about Rome. :eek:o

Surely the Crusader Kings realm/character system is a better way of modelling the Dark Ages and Middle Ages?
Yeah, but what the hell else do you do? I want the EU3/Rome style system of war & trade. :)

Explanation of the differences? Don't forget how totally different the game would be with a total overhaul of all the traits/events to make major changes.

Crusader Kings is set up for the feudal system. Every province has is controlled by a Count, who may or may not be the vassal of a Duke, who may or may not be the vassal of a King... Generally, it represents the way feudal noblemen worked decently.

CK already has character traits - indeed, the Rome character system is in many ways modelled on that of Crusader Kings. Actually, quite a lot of Rome is recognisable from CK.

If you're thinking of doing a medieval mod for Rome I strongly suggest you get a copy of Crusader Kings first!
