Hi there,

as you may see, in my other thread, i am very new to this, and have problems to understand, how mods work in Stellaris. The online Modding Help sites, in my opinion, give a basic view on it, but if you was not a modder before, it leaves you with tons of unanswered questions.

I know, its bunch of work and most of you are creating mods for stellaris since it launched, and you laugh about some foolish questions like "Gawd, it is so simle you monk." But on the other side some may only needs a little poke or advise to see what is going on.

It would be very nice to have some of the pros, for asking a question or sending a part to check the syntax of it.
Any help would be welcome, and i am sure, here are many of them, who can need a mentor ;)

Cheers

The Modding Wiki is a great tool to start learning to mod. http://www.stellariswiki.com/Modding Even though its incomplete.

Stellaris is very easy to learn to mod, but there are some restrictions. Your best bet for learning with a Mentor is to use Reddit or join a modding group.

A few tips.
  1. Never edit or add to the main files. Always create a mod folder and add changes there.
  2. Never use another moders work without their permission(even if you modify it)
  3. Look at the Paradox Source Code to see how they implement ideas.
  4. In your \Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\logs folder you can find a huge amount of data which can help solve bugs, crashes, and other issues.
