Why does it seem like there aren't any? Is it like that in vanilla too?

We've pretty much left India relatively untouched since its release, so it's pretty likely that that's the case indeed.

Yeah, I did a quick check and vanilla only has one extra merc company in india than ck2+. The Tamil band and I've not a clue when that was added.

Huh, so why didn't.... oh, I forgot to take into account the lowered distance threshold. I was using Pala for the check and it seems that while they are close enough in vanilla to hire them, they are just a bit to far away to do so in ck2+.
