"military" icons not there, instead there are boxes on map

i uninstalled HoI last night and reinstalled today and updated to v. 1.04. when i started up a game the icons for the bombers, infantry, etc. were replaced with boxes with small icons in them. i dont know how to explain it better, but has anyone had the same problem?

You have the NATO counters on (Symbols vs Icons).
There is an option for "Counters" you need to change this to get back to the Icons.
