Minor Nations Diplomats

Do all minor nations get one diplomat? I played as both SWE and VEN and found this very frustrating. Escpecially ince the Venetia (and all Italian minors for that matter) would have had a more advanced core of diplomats that any of the major powers during thr first 75-100 years of the game other than Spain.

Is there a way to change the diplomats value?

Don't Venice, being catholic and all, get 2 diplomats a year at least ? And their rulers should provide a few more too a year.

If u mean to start the game with, I haven't seen a country yet that starts with more than 1.

Do you mean starting off or per year? Some nations you get 0 at the start so it varie. As for per year, I've always had what I was suppose to have.

Your current stability matters. If you are in +3 you get plenty(enough)of diplomats.

Never seen that myself, however the Dip skill of your Monarch makes a difference (1-3 per year)

Russia only gets one diplomat per year, and it's one of the major powers. As Prussia, I was getting 2 (or 3?) a year. Some of the factors in the number of diplomats are: religion, monarch ability, and war vs. peace.

Depends on who's ruling Russia though. There are some crap monarchs out there but Czars like Ivan IV and so aren't really running out of diplomats.

As I said, 1-3 depending on monarch. I've personally managed to pull togheter 21 RM and an 8 nation Alliance (at the same time) in the early 16th century with Russia, so to few diplomats ... no, not if you use them wisely.
