I played the game a bit, but noticed that the Turks got a new shield frame, but their Muslim brothers have to do with the old ones. Is this fair? I don't think so, Arabs should go gold!
Oh, and I also noticed the Turkish shields lack the crescent. Since the mask crescent is superimposed on the COA, doesn't this make the Ottoman COA look like just a field of red?
 
The "problem" is that there are three kinds of shields: western, muslim, and turkish/pagan. Western (the one with distinct kingdom, duchy, county shields) is used by all characters of light culture.
Only arabs use the muslim frame.
Turks, as well as all pagans of dark cultures use the turkish frame, regardless of religion, so you can't really add a crescent to it.
 
Dunno. I replaced the frames with custom ones almost immediately after getting DV so I didn't pay attention to them.

The Ottoman issue is easily fixed, replace their COA with one with the crescents on it. I use this one, no idea who by:
