I know that there are several traits mods out there currently, this is one I started working on when the game released and have recently uploaded to the Steam Workshop.

The idea here is to expand the diversity of species, so that especially in larger games there are no repeats and species will feel more unique and interesting. I increased the trait points to 4, and the picks to 8 so that uplifting species will be a lot more fun.

Leaders have been tweaked as well, so that they start with 2 traits and you have a pool of 5 to draw from. They will also cycle every 5 years instead of 10 (to keep things interesting, and because hey, people eventually get tired of waiting for you to hire them and move on to other things.)

I also adjusted the ethics points from 3 to 4. The reasoning was to allow for a species to have 2 fanaticism traits on the one end, or to diversify with 1 point on each axis of the "wheel". Again, because in larger games with 30+ empires, it's nice to have some variety.

Right now I am working on making a separate defines.lua file, so that this will be more compatible with other mods. I am still learning the ropes of modding a Paradox game, so this has been a clunky effort so far.

I am always looking to balance the traits and keep the mod fairly consistent with the vanilla traits in terms of costs/benefits, so if you have any thoughts or concerns about balance please let me know. Thanks!
