WWUS- World Without the United States
1778. A prolonged American war for freedom runs itself to the bloody end when the British hunt down and massacre the last American troops in the banks of Mississippi after a failed attempt by the Americans to cross it and escape.
1778 - 1789. Exodus of would have been American citizens move in mass farther to the west, towards mexico, and settle in the areas near the mexican border where the British crown has not yet spread.
March 12. 1795. Independent Republic of Texas announces itself.
March 18. 1795. Mexico declares war on Texas and occupies it after 2 months of fighting.
October 2. 1835. - April 26. 1836. The Texas Revolution. A group of freedom fighters holed up at the San Antonio de Valero mission station are systematically massacred to the last man by the mexican army. This battle later known as the battle of Alamo, sparked the Texan revolution which would end in the spring of the following year in the siege of Mexico City where general Antonio López de Santa Anna is killed defending the city with the last remaining Mexican troops. The following Mexican surrender sees large areas ceded to the Texans in addition to the Mexicans acknowliging the Texan independence.
1839. The War of 1839. The British Empire expanding through the French holdings in Louisiana and other areas to the south, declares war on Texas. The Texan-French alliance fights the British to a standstill and the war is ended with both sides agreeing to return to pre-war positions and borders.
1914-1919. World War 1. The Texans officially join the Axis and wreak havoc against the British and the French forces in northern america, in addition to sending troops and warships to europe. In 1915 over half of the British navy is sunk as the combined fleets of Texas and Germany lay siege to the naval harbor at Scapa Flow.
The end of the war sees large areas of the British colonial empire ceded to the axis powers, however, the burden of the war is too much for the Austro-Hungarian empire, and it collapses into many smaller independent nations.
1918. Red Dawn. Russian civil war commences and many areas break off from the former empire to form new nations.
1936. The world is in turmoil once again, only little less than 20 years after the most destructive war of the mankind. Even though the Axis nominally won the war, they too were empoverished in it's wake. New nations have risen up to challenge these older world powers, and even Texas has it's work cut out for them to keep their nation safe.
