Works with 1.6, no changes needed.

QuickCam shortens the camera delays in combat. This is intended for experienced players and compliments reduced audio delay mods. Feel free to edit the delay values as you wish.

QuickCam's main settings are now stock in 1.5 and have been removed from the mod. Thank you HBS for this QoL patch. Still, of you don't mind a little overlapping pilot chatter, QuickCam 1.5.0.1 can still remove what little delays are left. I also found a control to make the "Fly Cam" move to the final position faster. This allows the weapons impacts to land on in frame. Without this trimming, the stock Fly Cam will not make it to the destination in time for some shots.

Instructions:
  • Install ModTek
  • Place QuickCam folder in Mods folder created for ModTek

ya ive been using this since end of nov and cant live without it now.

This work with the speed up combat option?

If so it gets rid of the last annoying bits of slowdown (except the new EXTREME slowness when starting the game).

Try BattletechPerformanceFixer and Turbine.

Now running all 4 of these (Audio Pause, Quick Cam, BTPF & Turbine) and I've never seen the game run as fast as it is now.

... and this is with adding in mods for 11 new 'Mech meshes and all the variants from my mod.

Even Skirmish mode responds at unbelievable speeds...

Yes, it works just fine with it. The Combat speed just accelerates the movement rates, all together it makes things zip by really fast. I actually like playing with combat accel. off but with the rest on.

Steam says 255 hours played...

Anything that speeds up gameplay is a godsend. Every little delay is really jarring - like camera zooming in on a destroyed building...then lingering...aaagh. Or the same audio comments over and over and over...

Speaking of which...why do I have to manually destroy boring buildings when opfor has been wiped? So dull.

1.5 Adapts QuickCam Settings!
I'm very happy this mod's main purpose has been negated by the delay/camera edits in 1.5. You can remove QuickCam and have basically the same experience as with QC in 1.4. The A/B Video is no longer accurate and I'll get to making a new one. There are still some minor timing differences and a single new entry I will make for the 1.5 release of QC, however the difference between QC and stock will not be noticeable to most.

I've figured out the control for "fly cam" timings and this could make it miss less impacts when flying from OPFOR to target, but may result in a whippy camera at times.

v1.5.0.1 Update
QuickCam 1.5.0.1

For BATTLETECH 1.5.0

Requires ModTek 0.7.1
Instructions:

For older versions - Delete old QuickCam folder in BATTLETECH\Mods
Copy QuickCam 1.5.0.1 in to the BATTLETECH\Mods folder.

1.5 has been good to QuickCam. Most of the edits are now stock, and the remaining edits are now just half a second off of stock values. I also found the "ShowCamAttackTime" control will change how quickly the camera must reach the target destination when flying from the AI to target. Cutting this down will ensure the camera is in place during weapons impact in most situations. You can now re-enable the "Fly" slider and not miss as many shots.

Thanks HBS! You guys made this mod no longer mandatory. Glad to see stock getting these kinds of QoL improvements.

New A/B video!

We can see the changes between stock and QuickCam are nowhere near as bad as before. The new "ShowAttackCamTime" feature is also shown and you should be able to return the Fly Cam back on without missing much shots.
