Just released the first of a series of mods that aim to bring the MW4 Mercenaries mechs to BattleTech. This one includes the Fafnir and the Uziel, just in case someone needed a little Lyran in their lives! Look for the second mod in the series in the coming weeks.

Cheers for doing all these BD!

Hope to catch your stream over this next week !

@bloodydoves can you (or anyone else that uses it) tell me more about mech engineer please?

i get what it can do but i have questions;

can i use it with existing saves or would i need to start over?

where does one get the non-vanilla components?
are they just there or added to stores?

Oh wowo can't thank you enough . Are you doing the mechs from the MS version or the mektek version ?

The mod will work with existing saves the vanilla version is if you don't run roguetech i think

Existing (vanilla) saves should be okay, since MechEngineer attempts to auto-convert them. (I think the Atlas II might be a single broken mech, but maybe that's just me.)

As far as I am aware (I just started converting my own mod to use ME) the non-vanilla components of ME, like engine cores, endo-steel and others, do not show up in the shops post 1.3. This is because ME still uses the shopdef structure which it seems is not used for the shop inventory anymore.

You can, however, salvage engine cores, arm actuators and such from the battlefield and unmount it from mechs when you put them in storage.
(It is also reasonably easy to make your own mod that adds these items to the ingame shops.)

ME has, I believe, a new auto-converter that will convert your mechs automatically to use ME components. It's experimental currently but should work alright.

You mostly get them from enemy mechs. ME's shop system hasn't been updated yet that I know of but enemy mechs drop the parts pretty reliably.

They're actually the MechWarrior Online versions of the mechs. No one has yet extracted mechs from MW4 itself, though it's probably possible.[/user]
