I've tried myself but not having mod tools on mac and not being exactly proficient in programming made it impossible, so if anyone could do this, or help me do this I would be very happy:

New Sponsor: The Ai Frontier

Extractor AI and The Positronic Brain researched (I managed to do that)
No Passengers from earth allowed (worked around by reducing Rocket capacity to -200)
Starting with a Prefab of the Drone Assembler (this one I can't figure out)
The Drone Assembler doesn't use workers (I think I might crack this, but won't try until I get the other one done)

Preferably there would be two different buildings. One (that you start with, additional ones are very very expensive) that doesn't use workers and the classical one you unlock later in the game.

Bonus: Deactivate all mysteries that bring passengers to Mars.

If anyone can help me with having other Prefabs than the standard ones that would also be much appreciated.
 
You need to meddle with code and not just use the Mod Editor Templates to do that.

I assumed as much. Good thing is: I don't even have the Mod Editor to play with so that temptation is not very high. Bad thing is: I have no idea how to code, or where to find out how to do this.

I have found a mod that removes the requirements for workers in factories, so maybe I can at least get the worker requirement out of the way myself. In the meantime unlocking the tech for Drone Assemblers would probably make it at least playable.
 
Turns out, that without finding at least some decent documentation for modding buildings this is not going to work. I read that there is some documentation in the folder of the Mod Editor, but I've not found a copy online. Changing a mod on Electronics to work on a Drone Assembler has not worked out so far.
 
Yes, Mac/Linux users get the steam workshop. I found your mod, but it doesn't quite do what I am looking for. My idea is that humans would be completely disallowed from the game with this sponsor. To balance out the fact, that every worker would have to be built, you get the advantage of extractor AI right from the get go. The problem is, that to build the initial batch of workers you already need some, because the Drone Assembler which builds the BioRobots needs workers to run. Therefore I need to change the Drone Assembler (or have a duplicat) that works without workers (maybe at less efficiancy). I am striving for a balanced mod, not easy mode.
 
Sounds like a new breakthrough tech mod based on the AI extractor tech but applied to the drone hubs. It's do-able, it think. I can see if I can do it for ya and post the mod in the workshop. Then you will have the base code and can add to it and post the full mod and I'll take down the original. Might appreciate some collaboration credit though ;)
 
Sorry... typo. Yeah Big building, looks like a garage, where they make rollie things. got it! :)

Side note, why not just bring in one human with no other work place but the Assembler available have them build the first bot. Then that bot works there to make more bots. Then the human dies but the bots live on, to work in the cloning spire to make humans to make more bots. And an argument breaks out over "Who Made Who"!!!!
 
Perfect. Don't know why I didn't find it. Probably searching for the wrong thing. With this I can do the rest of my mod myself, although I can sadly not upload to the workshop.
