"You pain in the arse Edeyz! Stop posting mod requests!"

I live in Melbourne Australia, right outside a major tram stop. The tram here takes 11 seconds (I timed it) to load passengers and move off again. In Cities Skylines, the trams/buses take 20 seconds (I also timed this) , despite that everyone has disembarked/bordered the tram withing the first 2.

Trams, buses (and trains to some extent) need to have a much shorter stop time, given Cities Skylines is on a much smaller scale than Melbourne and tram and bus stops are much closer, it would be reasonable for the stop time to also be much less (6-9 seconds).

Secondly I am sick of trams and buses stopping when there is nobody to pick up or drop off, I don't know what happens if other countries, but in Australia the idea that trams/buses would wait 20 seconds for nobody is absolutely ridiculous. Trams/buses should do a check if there is anyone at the stop, or wishing to disembark before they actually stop, if not they should continue on.

I know this second bit is more complicated, but I really hope someone could help here to make a more realistic traffic mod.

Thanks
Edeyz

they wait 20 seconds as they are unbunching, this was added to the game after much request.

the second point is easy to fix, remove the stop that no one uses.

The point of this is that there are stops on the network that are only used infrequently, but that are still used. Additionally, unbunching could better work if the the second point where implemented. Any vehicle could simply skip a stop should it be too close to the previous and there is no one looking to disembark.

if they're too close then one is not needed, remove it

You can use mod "Better public transport" or similar name, it is have UI-option to manually disable venicle unbunching on certain stops, this may be used to create unbunching-only stops at ends of lines. This mod will give you more possibilities to control public transport.
About your second request: in Russia we usually have two systems of buses - municipal and commercial. Municipal buses stopping at every stop (unless it is "on demand"-stop), dont matters is there anyone, and commercial stopping only in case of someone calling them with raised hand. I think C;S can simulate only first system.
I also recommend you "Traffic Manager : President Edition" mod if you want more realistic public transport and more contol.

"Secondly I am sick of trams and buses stopping when there is nobody to pick up or drop off(...) Trams/buses should do a check if there is anyone at the stop, or wishing to disembark before they actually stop, if not they should continue on"

This is how a normal public transport works, not like in the UK or ... Australia as for this matter :p They have timetable and they don't skip their stops as it happens in these... 2 (?) countries. Not to mention that this is done on purpose by the drivers - avoiding taking passengers. It's not the service people want in cities (maybe apart from little Britain and tiny Australia ;)).

The area where stops are "on request/demand" only, where a driver doesn't need to stop, is in rural areas only, not in towns. Seems that some countries lag behind with public transport :p
